What Is This Tool?
PNG is the format you want when quality is non-negotiable: every pixel stored exactly, ready for retouching, print production, or long-term archives. WebP files, by contrast, are usually lossy and locked into a web-oriented codec.
This converter decodes WebP and re-encodes as lossless PNG, then runs OxiPNG — a state-of-the-art optimizer — to strip redundant data. The output is pixel-identical to the decoded image, just as compact as lossless allows.
The Compression Level slider (0-9) trades processing time for size: higher levels squeeze harder without ever touching the pixels. And since everything runs in your browser, client work stays private.
How to Use
- Add WebP files with drag-and-drop, the file picker, or paste. The queue shows each file and its current size.
- Set the Compression Level (0-9). 2 is fast and already efficient; 9 produces the smallest lossless file but takes longer on large images.

Is the PNG output really lossless?
Yes. Every pixel from the decoded image is preserved exactly. The compression level only affects file size, never image data.
Why is my PNG bigger than the WebP?
Lossless formats store more information by definition. If you need small sizes, keep WebP; if you need a pristine original, PNG is the right trade.
What does the Compression Level do?
It controls how much effort OxiPNG spends finding redundant data. Level 9 produces the smallest file; lower levels finish faster.
